Looking for a Halloween project? Okay, so maybe not so hot in the featured colors for that but the right colors would really make it. And it looks a lot more like a web when finished in one solid color. However that particular square went into a blanket before I got a camera picture, but I had scanned it for reference for my pattern so its image is below the instructions.

Hook size: I; finished piece about 8“

Ch 4 or 6, sl st attach. (Some prefer to use a “Magic Circle” technique.)

Rnd 1: ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1), dc, ch 1 eleven times, join to 3rd ch of beg. (12 dc, 12 ch 1)

Rnd 2: Attach new color in or sl st in ch 1 sp; ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc (corner made); *in ch 1 sp dc, hdc, ch 1; hdc, dc in next ch 1 sp; corner in next ch 1 sp; repeat around from * for a total of 4 sides, sl st to 3rd ch in original ch 3. (9 st per side, not including ch in corners)

Rnd 6: Attach new color in or sl st twice into corner, ch 3, corner; *ch 1, 2 dc in sp after previous round's corner, 2 dc between next 2 dc, 2 dc in V-stitch, 1 dc in sp, ch 1, 1 dc in next sp, ch 1, 1 dc in next sp, 2 dc in V-stitch, 2 dc between next 2 dc, 2 dc in space before previous round's corner; corner; repeat from * around, sl st into top of ch 3. And here is the aforementioned solid color square.
